DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A.J. Allmendinger, fresh off his third NASCAR Xfinity Series victory of the season last weekend at Michigan Int’l Speedway, will start from the pole on Friday night at Daytona Int’l Speedway.
Allmendinger secured the pole for the Wawa 250 by virtue of having the highest metric score following last Saturday’s race at Michigan of those entered in Friday’s race at Daytona.
JR Motorsports driver Noah Gragson, who is still in search of his first victory of the season, will start alongside Allmendinger on the front row. Brandon Jones starts third, followed by Justin Allgaier and Harrison Burton.
Riley Herbst, Brett Moffitt, Jeremy Clements, Justin Haley and Jade Buford will start sixth through 10th, respectively.
Championship leader Austin Cindric, who won at Daytona to open the season in February, will start 14th.
