Wallace Fined $50,000 Following Post-Race Infraction

Bubba Wallace has been fined $50,000 following an on-track infraction after the checkered flag in Sunday’s NASAR Cup Series Chicago Street Race.

Wallace, driver of the No. 23 Toyota for 23XI Racing, slammed his door into the side of race winner Alex Bowman’s No. 48 Chevrolet on the cool down lap.

According to NASCAR officials, the 30-year-old was in violation Sections 4.4.B & D: NASCAR Member Code of Conduct during Sunday’s Grant Park 165.

The two drivers tangled earlier in the race on lap 25 when contact between the two resulted in Wallace’s No. 23 spinning into the wall.

Wallace finished 13th in the race and sits 17th on the playoff grid, 45 markers behind Chris Buescher, who holds the final spot with six races remaining in the regular season.Â
