Travis Mack will no longer serve as the crew chief for the No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet in the NASCAR Cup Series, the team announced Wednesday morning. The move is effective immediately, according to a team statement.
“We appreciate the commitment Travis made to the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season and wish him well in the future,” the statement read.
Darian Grubb, a former Cup Series championship-winning crew chief with Tony Stewart, will serve as the No. 16 crew chief this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with driver Shane van Gisbergen.
Prior to this season, Mack was the crew chief for Daniel Suárez for three years, where he scored a victory with the No. 99 Trackhouse Racing team at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway in 2022 and made the NASCAR Playoffs.
More announcements regarding the position will be made in the near future.
