MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Matt Tiftt, a former student of the business school at UNC Charlotte, will help raise awareness for the Niner Nation Unites campaign to benefit the victims killed and injured during the recent shooting on the campus.
Tifft will race the UNC Charlotte Strong decal on the sides of his No. 36 Front Row Motorsports Ford. Tifft will also be posting links and reminders on his social media channels encouraging fans across the country to visit and donate to the UNC Charlotte crowd fund page, Niner Nation Unites, that drives monies to the Ellis Reed Parlier and Riley Howell scholarship funds and to those injured in their recovery.
Tifft will race the decal during this weekend’s All-Star activities at the Charlotte Motor Speedway as he attempts to make his first Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star event.
“I think this weekend, we have a lot of fans tune into NASCAR for our All-Star activities and since we’re just minutes from the UNC Charlotte campus, it’s the best time for me to talk about the Niner Nation Unites crowd fund page that gives 100 percent of its proceeds to the victims still recovering and to the scholarship funds of Ellis Reed Parlier and Riley Howell. As a racing community, we can make a real difference,” Tifft said.
“It was a sad day for the University, and personally, I’m still feeling for those affected and the campus,” added Tifft. “I think we can not only run the Charlotte Strong decal, but the real impact is logging onto the site and making a small donation. I have and will continue to do so.”
