Reddick On ROVAL Pole

CONCORD, N.C. — 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag during Sunday’s Bank of America ROVAL 400 after setting the fastest lap during Saturday’s qualifying session.

With a 81.214-second lap (102.839 mph) around the 2.25-mile road course, Reddick was able to claim his second pole award of the season in his No. 45 Toyota entry.

“This is what we needed to do. We had hoped and put a lot of effort in, just as all the playoff teams do coming into this race,” Reddick said. “I think, for the most part, this is as good an outcome as possible for the No. 45.”

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell will join Reddick on the front row after setting a fast lap of 81.328 seconds (102.695 mph) in his No. 20 Toyota.

Trackhouse Racing’s Daniel Suarez qualified third with a lap of 81.401 seconds (102.603 mph).

23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace was fourth, while Richard Childress Racing’s Kyle Busch was fifth. A.J. Allmendinger, Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin and Ty Gibbs will start from the top 10.

“The 45 is in a different league right now, not that we can change a whole bunch, but there are enough things and enough knobs that we can tune on to try to get a little bit better for tomorrow. We’ll call the race the best that we know how to and try to maximize our finish,” Logano said.

Kyle Larson will start from the back of the field after experiencing a crash during practice. Hamlin also spun during qualifying in his No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.
