MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Drivers David Ragan and Matt DiBenedetto will not return to BK Racing in NASCAR’s premier series next year.
DiBenedetto confirmed on his personal Twitter account Thursday evening that he has chosen not to return to the team and will “go in a different direction” next year.
DiBenedetto, who has driven for BK Racing the last two years, earned a career and team best sixth-place finish this year at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.
Ragan, a two-time NASCAR premier series winner, joined BK Racing for the 2016 season and scored a best finish of 16th this year.
“BK Racing has agreed not to renew David Ragan’s contract for next year,” team owner Ron Devine said in a statement. “Everyone wishes David the best of luck in his career. BK Racing will continue to restructure as an ongoing effort to improve our on-track performance in the NASCAR Monster Energy Premier Series, and we will be announcing our 2017 driver line up in the near future.”
