MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Obaika Racing will attempt to make its Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series debut next weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.
The team, which recently acquired NASCAR Cup Series equipment from BK Racing during a bankruptcy auction, will announce a driver and sponsors for the No. 97 Toyota Camry next week.
The team has confirmed that Space Grill will serve as an associate sponsor on the No. 97. Space Grill will continue to be on board as an associate sponsor. Developed in Australia and distributed by Glen Dimplex Americas in Vancouver, Wash., Space Grill was designed to maximize outdoor space without sacrificing grilling surface area or taste.
“Next weekend Obaika Racing will be opening the door to many new possibilities,” said team owner Victor Obaika. “Since starting this race team in 2015, our goal has been to race at the highest level of the sport in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. I am very excited to see what is on the other side of this door.”
Obaika Racing has previously made 78 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The team attempted to qualify for last Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s ROVAL with driver Tanner Berryhill, but failed to qualify.
