He made 334 starts in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, but Bobby Hillin Jr.’s only victory came in the 1986 Talladega 500 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. Racing as a teammate to Bobby Allison for the Stavola Brothers, Hillin didn’t take the lead for the first time until lap 168 of the 188-lap race.

He swapped the lead with Tim Richmond and Allison during the closing stages, but Hillin got the lead back on lap 180 and led the final nine circuits of the 2.66-mile track to earn the victory as Richmond and Ricky Rudd chased him across the finish line.
