HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Matt DiBenedetto, driver of the No. 83 Toyota for BK Racing, will not compete in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Texas Motor Speedway after entering NASCAR’s concussion protocol.
DiBenedetto was not cleared by physicians to race following an incident in Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series event.
Jeffrey Earnhardt will drive the No. 83 in place of DiBenedetto on Sunday.
DiBenedetto is currently 35th in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings. He has one top-10 finish this year, which came at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway when he finished a career-best sixth.
