Logano To Lead Cup Field To Green At Michigan

CONCORD, N.C. – Joey Logano will start from the pole for Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan Int’l Speedway.

Logano, driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford, was selected to lead the field to the green flag thanks to a random draw. He’ll be joined on the front row for Saturday’s race by Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin.

Kevin Harvick will start third, followed by Aric Almirola, Brad Keselowski, Alex Bowman, Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, Clint Bowyer and Kurt Busch.

The starting lineup for the second NASCAR Cup Series race of the weekend on Sunday will be set by inverting the top-20 finishers of Saturday’s race.

Saturday’s race is the final event on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule that will be set via a random draw. NASCAR announced new starting procedure rules on Thursday that will be used when NASCAR makes its debut at the Daytona Int’l Speedway road course on Aug. 16.
