Johnson, who joined Petty GMS in November as a part-owner before the team rebranded to Legacy Motor Club, will compete in the No. 84 Chevrolet in this year’s Daytona 500 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.
It’ll be a diverse schedule for Johnson in 2023, who was also tapped to compete in NASCAR’s Garage 56 project at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 10-11.
After retiring from full-time Cup Series action in 2020, Johnson competed in the NTT IndyCar Series for two seasons, including a full schedule last season.
