Hendrick Motorsports Hit With $100,000 Fine

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR has issued a hefty penalty to Hendrick Motorsports after the organization exceeded its maximum amount of wind tunnel testing time.

Due to an infraction away from the race track, the four-car NASCAR Cup Series organization was hit with an L2 penalty for violating sections 5.3.e of the NASCAR Rule Book, relating to wind tunnel testing.

The team exceeded their wind tunnel testing time and has been fined $100,000 and loss of 10 hours of wind tunnel testing time from the 2020-2021 allocation for the organization.

Two lug nut penalties were also issues from Bristol.

In the Xfinity Series, the No. 10 Kaulig Racing team of Ross Chastain had one loose lug nut. Crew chief Bruce Schlicker has been fined $5,000.

In the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, the No. 19 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing team of Derek Kraus also had one loose lug nut. Crew chief Kevin Bellicourt has been fined $2,500.
