BROOKLYN, Mich. — The remainder of the NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan Int’l Speedway has been postponed Monday at 11 a.m. ET due to weather-related circumstances. USA Network will broadcast the conclusion of the race – which was halted after 52 of 200 laps.
The cars fired engines on time and went on track for pace laps, but the race never went green before rain hit the Michigan Int’l Speedway area. NASCAR attempted to dry the track, and after two batches of showers, the race finally got underway around 4:50 p.m. ET.
Kyle Larson led the first 34 laps before Bubba Wallace made a move on both him and Denny Hamlin to jump out front. Hamlin spun racing Wallace on lap 39, resulting in a caution where Wallace pitted and surrendered the lead. Ryan Blaney won Stage One and the race never resumed.
As they run, Chase Elliott leads followed by Martin Truex Jr., Wallace, Alex Bowman and Tyler Reddick inside the top five. Kyle Busch, Larson, Ross Chastain, Chase Briscoe and Joey Logano complete the top 10.
