Conclusion Of Texas Cup Race Pushed To Monday

FORT WORTH, Texas – NASCAR attempted to get its premier division going Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway, and did for a while, but Mother Nature ultimately won out.

Due to weather, the NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 at Texas Motor Speedway will resume on Monday morning at 10 a.m. ET on NBCSN, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

The race was stopped for mist that turned into more persistent rain as the night wore on, with 52 of the scheduled 334 laps completed.

A cycle of pit stops under yellow were conducted just before the red flag was displayed, with Clint Bowyer scored as the leader over Jimmie Johnson, Erik Jones and playoff contenders Joey Logano and Martin Truex Jr.

Kevin Harvick led the first 28 laps but smacked the wall just before lap 30, as the mist loomed over the 1.5-mile quad-oval. He’ll restart from 36th, one lap down.
