HARRISBURG, N.C. – Ryan Preece will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut later this season with David Gilliland Racing.
The deal, which came together through KHI Management, will see the Berlin, Conn., native race back-to-back Truck Series races in DGR’s No. 17 Ford F-150.
Preece will drive June 18 at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway and June 26 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa. Hunt Brothers Pizza will be the primary partner for Preece at Nashville while Morton Buildings will adorn Preece’s truck at Pocono.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to run Nashville and Pocono and partner with Hunt Brothers Pizza and Morton Buildings,” said Preece, a past NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion who is now in his third year competing in the NASCAR Cup Series. “DGR has done an awesome job building its program from the short tracks to the national level.
“I said it at the beginning of the season, I’m going to be in the seat as much as I can be. Cup, Truck, Modifieds – whatever has four wheels and an engine that will give me the opportunity to chase after trophies.”
Preece is a veteran of 81 Cup Series starts who is in his third season with JTG Daugherty Racing at NASCAR’s top level. His best finish to date is third at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, earned in April of 2019.
Preece boasts two wins in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition with Joe Gibbs Racing, earning one victory each in 2017 and 2018 during part-time campaigns.
