John Hunter Nemechek will start on the pole for tonight’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Nemechek led a Kyle Busch Motorsports sweep of the top three spots for the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 300, which starts at 9 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
Nemechek bested his team owner, Kyle Busch, with a top speed of 178.583 mph. Busch (178.000 mph) was followed by Chandler Smith in third (177.801).
The pole is the only the third of Nemechek’s career. The last one came in 2018.

The top five is completed by Ryan Preece and Zane Smith. Preece is making his first start of the year for David Gilliland Racing.
Three time Truck Series champion Matt Crafton qualified sixth for his 500th career start in the series.
Todd Bodine, a two time Truck Series champion making his first start since 2013, qualified 23rd. Driving the No. 62 Toyota for Halmar Friesen Racing, Bodine posted a speed of 174.848 mph.

The qualifying session was preceded by a 20-minute practice period.
ThorSport Racing’s Ty Majeski was fastest with a best speed of 177.451 mph.
He was followed in the top five by Smith (177.352 mph), Nemechek (176.875), Derek Kraus (176.696) and Grant Enfinger (176.551).
Busch was ninth fastest (176.211) and Bodine was 13th quickest.
“It took me a couple laps to get the nerve run wide open,” Bodine told Fox Sports 1. “These kids, they just do it. They don’t care. Once I got wide open, the truck was really good, neutral, doing everything I needed it to do. …. I forgot how fast this place was.”
