TALLADEGA, Ala. — John Hunter Nemechek won the pole for Saturday’s 17th annual Silverado 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race during qualifying Friday afternoon at Talladega Superspeedway.
Driving the No. 4 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota, Nemechek turned a best lap of 53.567 seconds at 178.767 mph to take the top qualifying position at the 2.66-mile superspeedway.
Nemechek edged his teammate, Chandler Smith, who ran a lap of 53.879 seconds to qualify outside the front row.
Carson Hocevar will start third in a Chevrolet, with Zane Smith fourth in a Ford for Front Row Motorsports. ThorSport Racing’s Matt Crafton qualified fifth and his Toyota teammate Ty Majeski was sixth.
Colby Howard, Derek Kraus, Jordan Anderson and Ryan Preece completed the top 10.
