FORT WORTH, Texas – For the fifth time this season, John Hunter Nemechek will lead the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series field to green when the SpeedyCash.com 220 kicks off Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway.
Nemechek, the driver of the No. 4 Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports, received the Cometic Gasket Pole Award for the 200-mile event courtesy of the highest metric score among the 40 trucks entered to compete.
Lap speed is weighted at 15 percent, previous race finish at 25 percent for the driver and owner results and owner points position at 35 percent to calculate the final metric score.
Nemechek earned the pole with a perfect metric score of 1.0, factoring in his recent win at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the fastest lap from that event and his top seeding in the owner point standings after 10 of 22 races this season.
He’ll be joined on the front row by Ben Rhodes of ThorSport Racing, with rookie Carson Hocevar, Todd Gilliland and Austin Hill filling out the top five starting spots.
Sixth through 10th on the grid will be Stewart Friesen, Zane Smith, Chandler Smith, Derek Kraus and Drew Dollar.
