Matt Mills has been released from Jackson South Medical Center as of Monday and has safely returned home to North Carolina, according to a release by Niece Motorsports on Monday afternoon.
Mills was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation following a crash in Saturday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He remained in the hospital for overnight on Saturday and Sunday.
The Niece Motorsports driver posted a video on social media to detail his release.

On lap 75 of the Baptist Health 200, Connor Jones got into the back of Mills’ No. 42 Chevrolet, which sent Mills into the turn three wall. Following the wreck, Jones was handed a two-lap penalty for the reckless driving.
Jones voiced his frustration on the radio.
“I’m getting ——-(expletive) run over left and ——-(expletive) right,” Jones said. “I’m done. I’m just done.”

Jones finished 25th in the race while Mills was credited with a 34th-place result.

Jones posted a statement on social media later in the evening, that read: “I have not yet had the chance to personally apologize to Matt for the incident that took place during today’s race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but I intend to do so.
“Matt and I have encountered several on-track incidents this season, and I let my frustration get the best of me.”
