Majeski To Start Truck Title Race From Pole

AVONDALE, Ariz. — Championship 4 drivers occupied four of the top five starting spots during Friday afternoon qualifying for this evening’s season finale for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Phoenix Raceway.

ThorSport Racing Ford driver Ty Majeski earned the pole with a best lap of 26.053 seconds (138.180 mph), edging fellow championship chaser Corey Heim, who was a tenth of a second slower at 26.063 seconds in his TRICON Garage Toyota.

It was Majeski’s 11th pole in 89 Craftsman Truck Series races.

Stewart Friesen, who is not racing for a championship, will start third in another Toyota.

Championship racers Christian Eckes and Grant Enfinger qualified fourth and fifth, respectively. Both drivers wheel Chevrolets.
