Majeski Feels Momentum On His Side Entering Playoffs

ThorSport Racing driver Ty Majeski has solidly been a top-three driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series throughout the season.

With two victories and 10 top-10 finishes in 16 regular season races, he’s on pace with the two drivers ahead of him on the playoff grid — Corey Heim and Christian Eckes.

Majeski enters this weekend’s race at Wisconsin’s Milwaukee Mile at a slight disadvantage. While Heim (+39) and Eckes (+36) are fairly safe in the first round of the playoffs, Majeski is a distant 21 markers above the cutline.

For the 29-year-old racer, he feels his No. 98 Ford team is peaking at the right time, despite entering the postseason without as many playoff points.

“I think we’re one of those top three contenders, for sure, especially coming off of these two wins,” Majeski said. “I think we’re probably carrying the most momentum in the series right now.”

While bold, it’s hard to deny his positive momentum over the last two races – Majeski won at both Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park and Richmond (Va.) Raceway to conclude the regular season.

“I feel like maybe our valleys have been a little bit lower than the 19 (Eckes) and the 11 (Heim), but I feel like our peaks have been similar, so as long as we can just peak at the right time and keep this momentum going, there’s no reason why we can’t be a competitor when we hopefully get to Phoenix,” Majeski said.

“I feel good about where we’re at. Our team is in a really good spot. We’re working really well together right now. Obviously, coming off of two wins is a huge deal.

“Our 98 team always seems to peak right about playoff time, so we’re ready for another good playoff run.”

Majeski made the Championship Four at Phoenix Raceway in 2022, however, finished fourth in the title hunt.

Heading to his home track in Milwaukee, the Seymour, Wis., native feels Sunday’s race may be an opportunity to prepare for the championship race at Phoenix due to the similarities between the two tracks.

“I think we’re as confident as we’ve ever been going back to Phoenix,” Majeski began. “We see a lot of similarities from Milwaukee to Phoenix.

“Probably the most similar track we can find to Phoenix is Milwaukee, so we’re trying something outside of our comfort zone package-wise going to Milwaukee and hopefully hit on it for Phoenix.”
