John Hunter Nemechek will start from the pole in tonight’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Darlington Raceway.
The Kyle Busch Motorsports driver posted a top speed of 171.232 mph. That was almost 3 mph faster than the second-place speed of 168.694 mph set by Ty Majeski.
It’s the fourth career pole for Nemechek and his second of the season. Nemechek remains winless entering tonight’s race.
After Majeski, the top five was completed by Grant Enfinger, Zane Smith and Corey Heim.
NASCAR Cup Series driver Ross Chastain qualified 10th.
Green flag for the Truck Series is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.

Practice
Before qualifying, a 20-minute practice session was held for teams.
Nemechek posted the fastest speed at 1566.09 mph.
He was followed by Enfinger (165.73), Majeski (165.59), Chastain (165.57) and Chandler Smith (165.57).
The only incident in the session was a spin by Colby Howard exiting Turn 2 with about five minutes left.
Howard was sixth fastest in the session.
