Ron Bouchard

Massachusetts’ Ron Bouchard made a big splash during his rookie Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season in 1981. Driving for Jack Beebe, he stole his first and only series victory in a thrilling finish at Talladega Superspeedway that same season.

Darrell Waltrip started the final lap leading Terry Labonte, with Bouchard trailing in third. Exiting turn four on the final lap Labonte got a run on Waltrip and went to the high side in an attempt to take the lead. Bouchard pounced, diving to the bottom through the tri-oval to beat both men in a drag race to the finish line.
