MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Rick Ware Racing has formed a partnership with Premium Motorsports to field an entry for Justin Marks in the 60th running of the Daytona 500 on Feb. 18 at Daytona Int’l Speedway.
“Racing in the Daytona 500 is a dream come true. The team has taken a dramatic step forward for 2018 and I think we’re going to have some real good equipment for this year’s 500,” said Marks. “Going down there in the race, without the drama of having to qualify, is going to relieve a lot of pressure and we can focus on our race car’s handling and race ability so were fully prepared for the event. Additionally, it’s awesome to welcome a new company, Harry’s, to NASCAR. The car looks great, they’re excited, and it’s going to be fun to introduce NASCAR fans to a new way of shaving.”
Marks will drive the No. 51 Chevrolet with horsepower provided by ECR Engines. The car will be sponsored by Harry’s Shaving Products and Katerra, a long-time sponsor of Marks. The team will be guaranteed a starting position in the Daytona 500 after the team acquired a charter in the offseason.
Marks has made three Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts in his career, including last year at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. He finished no better than 30th in his three Cup starts, but does have a NASCAR Xfinity Series victory in 2016 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
