Go-Parts Backing Spire & Kennington At Martinsville

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Spire Motorsports has reached an agreement with Go-Parts to sponsor the team’s No. 77 Chevrolet for Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

Canadian D.J. Kennington, a veteran of NASCAR Pinty’s Series and NASCAR national series competition, will take over driving duties for the Spire team at the .526-mile bullring.

As one of eCommerce’s original auto parts retailers, Go-Parts delivers high-quality, low-cost replacement parts to customers across the globe.

Kennington is a two-time NASCAR Pinty’s Series champion and has 15 previous MENCS starts on his resume. In two previous races in NASCAR’s premier division at Martinsville, Kennington has completed 98.6 percent of the laps and finished in the top 30 both times.

The St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada native also has three Martinsville NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series starts to his credit, with a best finish of 17th in March of 2010.

“We are thrilled to be back in the Cup Series and very excited to be teaming up with Spire Motorsports,” said officials from Go-Parts. “The entire Go-Parts team is looking forward to collaborating with team ownership at multiple events both in 2019 and beyond. Martinsville is always an exciting and welcoming place, and we can’t wait to cheer D.J. Kennington and the No. 77 Go-Parts Chevrolet Sunday afternoon.”

Spire Motorsports has competed all in all five Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races so far this season. The Mooresville, N.C.-based team has fielded an entry for four different drivers, including Jamie McMurray, Garrett Smithley, Reed Sorenson and Quin Houff.

“We’re proud to have Go-Parts join the Spire Motorsports family and greatly appreciate their support,” noted Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson. “D.J. Kennington is a journeyman racer with some experience at Martinsville, so we know he’ll do a good job for Spire Motorsports and Go-Parts this weekend.”
