Kurt Busch will miss his second consecutive NASCAR Cup Series race as he recovers from concussion symptoms and will be substituted by Ty Gibbs this weekend on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.
23XI Racing and Busch made the announcement on Twitter Wednesday, three days before the NASCAR Cup Series is set to practice and qualify on the road course.
Busch has been granted a medical waiver to remain eligible for the playoffs.

Busch, 43, suffered his concussion last Saturday when his No. 45 Toyota crashed exiting Turn 3 during Cup qualifying at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway.
Gibbs, who races full-time for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Xfinity Series, was a last-minute replacement for Busch after he wasn’t cleared by doctors to race.
In his Cup Series debut, the 19-year-old Gibbs finished 16th driving Busch’s car. That was after the cars of Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch were disqualified for failing post-race inspection.
