ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Paulie Harraka picked up where he left off at the end of the 2009 season Saturday by rolling to victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West opener at All American Speedway.

Harraka edged Jonathon Gomez in a two-lap dash to the finish after a late-race caution flag led to a green-white-checkered restart. The pair had spent much of the race battling for the lead.

“Tonight was old school short-track racing at its best,” said Harraka, who won $8,100. “Right from the beginning, the racing was tight and doors were banging. Fortunately for us, NAPA has the toughest parts you can buy, so we were able to hold everyone off and bring this one home.”

Harraka, who started from the pole for the third time at All American Speedway, crossed the finish line on the .333-mile asphalt oval .569-second ahead of Gomez. It was Harraka’s third series victory and second at All American Speedway.

Josh Combs flashed across the line in third ahead of Gary Lewis and David Mayhew.
