WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – Tomy Drissi will be back with NEMCO-JRR this weekend driving the No. 87 The Counselor Toyota when the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series makes its annual stop at the legendary Watkins Glen Int’l road course for the Cheez-It 355.
Drissi, a former Trans Am Champion and regular in the American Le Mans Series, is making his second appearance for NEMCO-JRR this season. He joined the team last month at Sonoma Raceway for the Toyota/SaveMart 350.
Drissi and the No. 87 team will be sponsored by The Counselor, a movie scheduled to open in theaters later this fall.
“I really appreciate having the opportunity to run with this great team,” said Drissi. “I especially want to thank Front Row Joe, Jay Robinson, Tom Legeman and the No. 87 team for the giving me another chance to race not only with their team but also in NASCAR with some of the best drivers in the world. Racing at The Glen is an absolute thrill in any car. Throwing a Cup car around this place will be epic.
Drissi will resume his regular American Le Mans Series duties with BAR1 Motorsports in Baltimore for the Grand Prix of Baltimore presented by Tequila Patron, on Aug. 31.
