“These soldiers deserve to be recognized for their service and to enjoy the world’s most patriotic pre-race celebration,” said Smith. “We invite additional fans and companies to join us so that we can have 20,000 troops and their families with us at the Coca-Cola 600.”
Goodyear will also join Charlotte Motor Speedway in honoring the U.S. Military by hosting its fourth-annual Goodyear Gives Back military charity campaign. Goodyear will once again transform its NASCAR tires, replacing the traditional Goodyear Eagle and Wrangler sidewalls with a design reading “Support Our Troops.”
Last but not least, Charlotte Motor Speedway will also give fans the chance to perform the National Anthem or God Bless America at many of the events held at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May. The track will host the Speedway Superstar Tour, which will travel to 10 cities throughout North and South Carolina from May 1-15 to audition potential singers.
Participants will be asked to perform an a cappella rendition of either the National Anthem or God Bless America. Five winners will be selected to perform at Charlotte Motor Speedway during one the five NASCAR events that will be held at the track in May.
