MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Turner Scott Motorsports has shut down the No. 30 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team and laid off 18 employees company-wide as a result.

“The decision to lay-off any employee is painful and we realize the affects it has on their lives,” said Harry Scott, Jr., whose investment firm is a co-owner of TSM. “However, the decisions made by TSM today are necessary and the responsible steps for all of TSM to ensure our commitment to our employees, partners and fans to be as competitive as possible.”

The company notified employees Tuesday afternoon. The No. 30 truck that had been driven by Ron Hornaday Jr. all season did not enter the race held on Sunday at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario. Prior to Sunday’s race in Canada Hornaday was fourth in the series championship standings.
