Red Horse No. 17 Truck Penalized

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Penalties have been levied to the No. 17 Red Horse Racing NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team following last Saturday’s race at Pocono Raceway.

The No. 17 truck driven by Timothy Peters was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4J (any determination by NASCAR officials that the race equipment used in the event does not conform to the NASCAR rules detailed in Section 20B of the NASCAR rule book); and 20B-12.8.1A (the roof failed to meet the minimum height requirement during post-race inspection) of the 2013 rule book.

As a result of this violation, crew chief Butch Hylton has been fined $5,000. The team has also been docked six championship driver points and six championship truck owner (Tom DeLoach) points.

The team does not plan to appeal the penalties issued by NASCAR.
