Ehrgott Set For Truck Series Debut

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Just four years ago, Ricky Ehrgott suffered life-threatening injuries while driving a midget at Kokomo Speedway in Indiana.

During his months of recovery, the Florida native was not sure if he would ever return to the sport he was passionate about. After successful surgery, Ehrgott utilized his recovery time by finishing his college degree. In December of 2012, he graduated from Fordham University in New York City.

Economics degree in-hand Ehrgott set out to get behind the wheel again, driving in two ARCA races last fall.

This season Ehrgott has two top-ten finishes in the ARCA series including an impressive third place run at the season opener at Daytona, followed by a ninth place finish at Talladega. This Saturday Ehrgott will take the next step in his racing career, getting behind the wheel of the SS Green Light Racing No. 81 Toyota in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Pocono Mountains 125 at the Pocono Raceway.

Platinum Wealth Partners and Rev1 Power Services will be backing Ehrgott’s foray into the world of NASCAR racing.

“This year is kind of my rebuilding year after I got hurt in 2009 and had to have surgery, so I took some time off to finish school so I’m coming back and trying to get back into it. I guess you could say it’s my comeback year,” Ehrgott said. “It was kind of a blessing in disguise as it forced me to get my education and I am learning to use it to help develop relationships with sponsors. It has helped me to develop my relationship with Dave Potter at Platinum Wealth Partners as an adviser and brand ambassador for Platinum.”

“I’m excited because this is my first truck race, it’s the next step for me,” he continued. “We are going to try to do a few more this year with a focus on running full-time next year.”
