BOWMANVILLE, Ontario – James Buescher put his Chevrolet Silverado on the pole Saturday at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park for Sunday’s aptly named NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chevrolet Silverado 250.
In his first road course start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the defending series champion got around the 10-turn, 2.459-mile road course in 81.074 seconds at 109.189 mph. It was his second pole of the 2013 season.
Ryan Blaney will start second aboard his No. 29 Ford, clocking in at 81.091 seconds and 109.166 mph.
Mike Skeen, a veteran road course racer who has won multiple times at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, will make his series debut from the third position in the Sharp-Gallaher Racing No. 6 Chevrolet. Chase Elliott and Miguel Paludo completed the top five.
Ty Dillon, Max Papis, Chad Hackenbracht, Darrell Wallace Jr. and Brendan Gaughan completed the top 10 in qualifying.
Ron Hornaday Jr., the only driver in the field to have raced on a road course in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, qualified 17th.
