Trevor Bayne Back With JGR For Three Xfinity Series Races

Trevor Bayne will return to Joe Gibbs Racing for three races throughout the remainder of the NASCAR Xfinity Series season in the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra, the team revealed on social media Wednesday.

Bayne will make his JGR return on Friday at Daytona (Fla.) Int’l Speedway. The Knoxville, Tennessee native will then kick off the Xfinity Series playoffs at his home track, Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, on September 15.

His final race comes the following weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, where he won the 2011 O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge, on September 23.

The 2011 Daytona 500 winner in the NASCAR Cup Series competed for JGR in nine Xfinity Series races last season, tallying seven top-10 finishes.

His best result last year was second (twice) at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway. The 32-year-old also scored two pole positions at Phoenix Raceway at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
