Fast Track Racing and Michael Maples have joined forces for the upcoming race season.
Maples will drive the No. 99 for the team, using cars purchased from the former Burgess Racing Team and two cars from Veer Motorsports.
Longtime Fast Track crew chief, Mike Sroufe, will serve atop Maples’ pit box for the full 23-race slate.
The 60-Year-Old Oklahoma driver plans to self-fund much of the season, but will carry sponsorship from his employer, Don Ray Petroleum, and a few other companies throughout the season.
No stranger to Racing, Maples has primarily raced IMCA modifieds since 2019. Up until 1998, he had previously participated in asphalt racing with late models in California before moving to Oklahoma.
“When I moved back to Oklahoma, I wanted to race either ASA or ARCA. I’ve always liked the ARCA series. Some people from Texas raced ARCA. I always thought it seemed like a good series to travel.” he said.
While attending the ARCA races at Kansas in 2024, Maples met team owner Andy Hillenburg, and knew the fit was right to make his dream a reality.
“They’re a good fit for me,” he noted. “They’re serious about their business but they’re also very respectful, nice and they like to have fun by joking around.”
