OREGON, Wisc. – Madison Int’l Speedway and the ARCA Midwest Tour announced Tuesday that their 2022 season opening event, the Joe Shear Classic 200 on Sunday May 1, will now pay a record $15,000-to-win and $1,500-to-start in the 28-car field.
Additionally, a minimum $3,600 Ultimate Challenge will be offered if the fast qualifier elects to start in the back of the field and wins the race that pays tribute to one of the Midwest’s finest short track drivers.
The annual event will feature the ARCA Midwest Tour, Midwest Truck Series and 602 Late Models on Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile.
Tickets purchased this week will be processed and mailed in time for Christmas.

The 2022 Madison season will begin Sunday April, 24 with the Super Sunday Spring Street Drags, followed by the Joe Shear Classic.
A full season at Madison with weekly Friday Night racing is slated to get underway on May 13.
