NEWTON, Iowa — Connor Zilisch outdueled fellow teenager William Sawalich on two late restarts to win Friday’s ARCA Menards Series Atlas 150 at Iowa Speedway.
On a three-lap dash to the checkered flag, Zilisch took the inside lane on Sawalich and pulled away. Sawalich tried to make something work on the high lane, but it wasn’t enough as Zilisch took home his second career ARCA victory.
Behind Sawalich were polesitter Giovanni Ruggiero, Mason Mitchell and Andy Jankowiak to round out the top five. Andres Perez, Gus Dean, Toni Breidinger, Lavar Scott and Chris Tate completed the top 10.
A crash between Kris Wright and Cody Dennison brought out the red flag with 28 laps to go. The pair finished 16th and 18th, respectively.
