AUSTIN, Texas – AM Racing has hired veteran NASCAR crew chief Marc Browning to head the team’s at-track efforts with driver Austin Wayne Self in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for the 2016 season.

Browning, a native of Dundee, Mich., has a background rich with experience in the upper levels of NASCAR, including a stint as a member of Kyle Busch’s Sprint Cup Series crew at Joe Gibbs Racing. Browning has also worked with numerous other drivers including Johnny Sauter, Landon Cassill and Parker Kligerman as a crew chief in the Truck Series and XFINITY Series.

Browning is no stranger to Self or AM Racing, as he was Self’s crew chief when Self won at Winchester Speedway in the ARCA Racing Series last season.

“I have a strong relationship with Austin and the AM team, and I’m excited to be on-board and can’t wait to get to Daytona,” Browning said. “The folks at AM Technical Solutions are committed to providing all the resources necessary to build a winning organization, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”

Self, who begins his battle for Truck Series Rookie of the Year honors this season in the No. 22 AM Technical Solutions Toyota Tundra in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona Int’l Speedway on Feb. 19, appreciates the knowledge Browning brings.

“Marc has had the opportunity to work with many strong drivers during his career in NASCAR, and he knows what it takes to perform at a high level,” Self said. “I’m looking forward to working with him and learning from him.”
