Martin Nips Bagnaia In German Grand Prix

Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia thrilled in Sunday’s German Grand Prix, with Martin edging the defending champion by 0.064 seconds at the finish line.

After scoring two sprint victories this season, including on Saturday, Martin had not won a grand prix event since the 2021 Syrian Grand Prix.

Though battling it out on the Sachsenring, Martin got the best of polesitter Bagnaia to end his winless streak.

The start saw plenty of movement, including a stellar start for Jack Miller.

Despite rocketing out to the front on the initial start, Miller fell to sixth by race’s end after losing momentum in turn 11 on lap one.

Martin maneuvered his way to the lead with fresh pavement ahead by lap four.

Though Bagnaia fought back on lap 21 to take the lead again. Three laps later, Martin retook the lead for the final time.

The two would fight in the latter stages as Martin would reign victorious.

Johann Zarco completed an all-Ducati podium in third place after Brad Binder crashed out of third on lap 19.

Martin now trails championship leader Bagnaia by a mere 16 points.Â
