With tire conservation crucial in Sunday’s Thailand Grand Prix, Jorge Martin held off Brad Binder to score the MotoGP victory.
It was a three-rider fight in the closing laps between Martin, Binder and Francesco Bagnaia with Martin securing the top spot on the final lap.
Binder was penalized for going off the track on the final lap, which forced a one-place penalty and putting Bagnaia to the runner-up position. The vault to second gave Bagnaia a crucial four points towards the championship.Â
Marco Bezzecchi ran fourth with Aleix Espargaro rounding out the top five.Â
With only three races remaining in the season, Martin trails Bagnaia by a mere 13 points.Â
