The 1,000th MotoGP event saw VR46 Ducati rider Marco Bezzecchi earn the win in a crash-filled French Grand Prix at Le Mans.
After overtaking Jack Miller on lap 11, Bezzecchi dominated the rest of the way, gapping second-place finisher Jorge Martin by 4.256 seconds.
By race’s end, only 13 riders crossed the finish line.
Lap five saw points leader Francesco Bagnaia run into trouble, as he collided with Maverick Vinales while fighting for third place. Both riders would not continue.
One lap later, Luca Marini lose control, collecting Alex Marquez in the process.
Johann Zarco rounded out the podium in third place to give Ducati a clean sweep of the front three.
After five events, Bagnaia holds a one-point advantage over Bezzecchi in the standings. t
