Bagnaia Strikes Again With Thailand GP Triumph

Francesco Bagnaia cut into Jorge Martin’s MotoGP championship lead after winning Sunday’s Thailand Grand Prix.

The defending champion successfully maneuvered through wet weather conditions during the race as he overtook Martin on lap five for the lead before cruising to the win by nearly three seconds at the checkered flag.

Marc Marquez overtook Martin as well in the early going. However, Martin retook the runner-up position after Marquez’s day ended after going off course on lap 14. Pedro Acosta secured the third position.

Fabio di Giannantonio battled to place fourth in his final MotoGP race of the season. He’ll have season-ending shoulder surgery. Despite slipping back after running as high as third, Jack Miller completed the top five in fifth.

Trackhouse Racing failed to have a finisher in its two-rider lineup with Lorenzo Savadori and Raul Fernandez both enduring issues.

With only four races remaining in the season, Martin’s points gap ahead of Bagnaia is 17 markers.
