Francesco Bagnaia continues to state his case for another championship following Sunday’s MotoGP Malaysian Grand Prix.
The defending champion notched his 10th victory of the season after he and title rival Jorge Martin sparred in the beginning stages of the event.
Martin was unable to chase down the polesitter as Bagnaia gapped Martin by over three seconds at the checkered flag. The gap has shrunk to 24 points as the title will decided in two weeks in Barcelona.
Enea Bastianini secured the final podium position in third. Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta completed the top five.
An early crash involving Jack Miller, Brad Binder and Fabio Quartaro forced a red flag on the first lap due to Miller needing medical attention on the circuit. He’d escape major injury, however, would not be able to continue.
Trackhouse Racing’s Raul Fernandez led the way for the American team in 16th with teammate Lorenzo Savadori placing 18th.
