Honda HRC’s Chase Sexton charged to the top of the timesheets during qualifying for round 12 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
His 56.248-second lap held as the fastest time of the day.
Star Racing Yamaha’s Eli Tomac slid into second with a 56.467-second lap time. The defending Supercross champion was also quickest during the first session of the day. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Adam Cianicarulo claimed third, H.E.P. Motorsports’ Ken Roczen qualified fourth and Cianciarulo’s teammate Jason Anderson finished fifth.
SX Notes: Triple Crown Terror
Notably, Red Bull KTM’s Aaron Plessinger left the second qualifying session early and will thus be assigned gate pick according to his fast lap from the first session of the day.
Unfortunately, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Christian Craig crashed hard in the whoop section during practice and will miss the night show in Glendale. He is currently being evaluated by the on-site medical crew.
Overall 250SX Qualifying Results
Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence has now earned the fast-qualifier award during five of six 250SX West rounds. The No. 18 rider will lead the regular West Coast contenders — minus the injured Cameron McAdoo — into Saturday night’s Triple Crown.
Lawrence’s fast lap was 57.657 seconds.
Red Bull/TLD/GAS GAS rider Pierce Brown had a strong performance, qualifying second with a 57.881-second lap time. R.J. Hampshire, Enzo Lopes and Levi Kitchen completed the top five.
