After sitting out last weekend’s Monster Energy AMA Supercross race at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., due to a hard crash sustained during practice, Aaron Plessinger will remain on the sidelines another weekend.
While the Red Bull KTM rider did not suffer any major injuries in the crash, he admitted to experiencing heavy bruising, swelling and soreness throughout the week. While at home in Florida, Plessinger underwent further medical evaluation, but both his X-ray and MRI came back clear.
The Ohio native will sit out this Saturday’s race at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., according to a statement the team released earlier this morning. Plessinger is expected to return at the next round in Denver, Colo., on May 6.
Overall, the No. 7 rider has been enjoying a strong run this season.
He has collected four top-five finishes and a season-best result of third place.
He was seventh in the 450SX point standings heading into Nashville.
