One-Hour SuperMotocross Special To Air On NBC

The inaugural SuperMotocross World Championship is set to commence in conjunction with the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series in January, continue through the summer with Pro Motocross and conclude with three SuperMotocross playoff events in the fall.

Prior to the season’s start, a SuperMotocross World Championship one-hour preview will air on NBC and Peacock on January 1 at 5 p.m. (ET).

The special will feature appearances from reigning Supercross and Pro Motocross champion Eli Tomac, Supercross champion Jason Anderson, two-time Supercross champion Cooper Webb, Pro Motocross champion Ken Roczen, rising star Chase Sexton, and Australian brothers Jett and Hunter Lawrence as they prepare for the upcoming 2023 season.

Live coverage of the 31-event campaign will be available on Peacock, NBC, USA Network, CNBC and NBC Sports digital platforms, as the new series has signed a five-year broadcast deal with NBC Sports.

Many familiar faces are making a return to the commentary team — including Leigh Diffey, Todd Harris, Ricky Carmichael and Daniel Blair — while other industry experts and veteran racers are being brought in to complete the program.

Diffey, Harris, Blair and Jason Weigandt will be the play-by-play announcers across all 31 events. Fifteen-time AMA champion Carmichael and seven-time AMA champion James Stewart will serve as analysts through the year. Blair will also work alongside Will Christien and former racer Jason Thomas to provide on-track reports.

In addition, there will be a pre-race program available each event, exclusive to Peacock.

“Race Day Live” will be led by Blair and Dan Hubbard as they provide 2.5 hours of pre-event coverage for Supercross, one hour for motocross and 2.5 hours for SuperMotocross playoff rounds.

The racing schedule will kick off with the Supercross opener in Anaheim, Calif., on January 7.
