After sweeping both 250SX titles last season, Australian brothers Jett and Hunter Lawrence are moving up to the 450SX class in 2024.
Though younger, Jett is one step ahead as he previously made his 450cc class debut during AMA Pro Motocross and enjoyed a perfect season — scoring 22 consecutive moto victories and the title in his rookie campaign.
He also contested the SuperMotocross World Championship playoff rounds in the 450 class, earning $1 million for his successful title run. However, the season opener on Jan. 6 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., will mark Jett’s official Supercross debut in the 450SX class.Â
The 20-year-old will steer the No. 18 Honda machine during the 17-round Supercross season.Â
Meanwhile, Hunter will be making his premier class debut on the No. 96 Honda after earning both the 250SX East and Pro Motocross 250cc class championships in 2023.
The 24-year-old has been racing in the 250 class since 2020, when he made his professional debut in the U.S.Â
Brandon Wilson, manager of racing and experiential marketing, commented, “While it’s gratifying that we were able to get Team Honda HRC back on top where it belongs in 2023, this team’s proud legacy wasn’t built on a one-and-done philosophy. In fact, the recent success just makes us even more determined to keep it going in 2024.
“Fortunately, I think we have all the pieces needed to accomplish that: an incredibly talented rider roster, a capable crew, competitive machinery and valuable sponsors.”
250SX Lineup
As previously announced, Jo Shimoda will compete for Honda HRC in the 250cc class, swapping over from his prior ride with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki. The fourth rider on the roster is Chance Hymas, who will return to the 250SX class in 2024.
