Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Christian Craig sustained several season-ending injuries when he crashed during practice at last weekend’s Monster Energy AMA Supercross round in Glendale, Ariz.
The 31-year-old dislocated his hip and right elbow in the crash. He also broke his arm.
The 450SX rider was transported to a nearby hospital following the crash, where doctors were able to put his hip and shoulder back into place. He is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair the broken arm.
“Beyond bummed to end my season this way, but trying to stay positive and be ready to go when I’m healed,” Craig said.
His best finish this season was sixth during the 10th round of the season at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich., aboard his No. 28 machine.
There has yet to be a timeline announced for his return, though it is clear that he will miss the remaining five rounds of the Supercross season. Barring complications in the recovery process, it’s likely Craig would return during the AMA Pro Motocross series this summer.
