On Friday, it was confirmed that Hunter Lawrence suffered a small fracture to his left scapula during a crash during last Saturday’s main event at Daytona Int’l Speedway.
Thus, the Team Honda HRC rider will not compete in round nine of Monster Energy AMA Supercross at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Ala., on March 9.
The team released a statement about the 24-year-old, writing, “Hunter and the team are still awaiting a prognosis from doctors, but he is focused on returning as quickly as possible.”
The Australian has had a trying rookie campaign in the 450cc class so far, with two fifth-place results highlighting his eight-race record. Lawrence officially scored 21st at Daytona after his crash.
