Prior to last weekend’s 250SX East/West Showdown in Nashville, Tenn., Cameron McAdoo was enjoying one of the best Monster Energy AMA Supercross seasons of his career.
He had the points lead in the Eastern region along with one win and four runner-up finishes in seven races.
Unfortunately, McAdoo lost it all in one split second inside Tennessee’s Nissan Stadium last Saturday after colliding with teammate Levi Kitchen on the first lap of the main event and falling right in the path of Nate Thrasher, who had no choice but to make contact with McAdoo’s left shoulder.Â
Though he picked up his No. 63 Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki and continued to ride, McAdoo ultimately pulled off the track a few minutes later and retired for the evening.
On Thursday, the 250SX East rider provided an update on his injuries via Instagram.
“After getting X-rays and MRIs this week, I ended up breaking my scapula and I have a partial tear in one of the muscles in my shoulder,” McAdoo stated. “The good news is nothing requires surgery and all of the ligaments in my shoulder are good, that was one of the big concerns for me.”
He noted that it is a “tough pill to swallow,” considering how well his year was going.Â
Though he will miss the final two 250SX East rounds of the season, McAdoo plans to be ready for the AMA Pro Motocross opener in early May and hopes to contend for the overall SuperMotocross World Championship.Â
